Because there is no effective screening method, ovarian cancer is typically in advanced stages at diagnosis.

In most women, aggressive treatment results in complete clinical remission. The majority of patients, however, eventually experience disease progression and die from the disease.

Dr Maurie Markman reports on recent trials that expand the options for delaying disease progression in advanced ovarian cancer, and discusses selection of frontline therapy.
