#2 Clinical Trend: VOD Stem Cell Transplant
In a heartwarming and heartbreaking story, in August of last year, the Cincinnati Bengals cut defensive tackle Devon Still from their active roster but signed him to the practice squad the next day to help him pay for the cancer treatment of his daughter, Leah. Sadly, Leah is still fighting complications of her neuroblastoma. Recently, she developed veno-occlusive disease (VOD) after stem cell transplantation.
