#8 Clinical Trend: MERS Incubation Period

Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) is a serious condition, and one key component of the disease is no longer clearly defined. South Korean health officials investigating their most recent case have cast doubt on the dormancy period, which was believed to be 14 days. The newest case appears to have had a dormancy period of 21 days. As physicians struggle to get a handle on this disease, they will no doubt play close attention to these developments.
