Ulcerative colitis is associated with various extraintestinal manifestations. Overall, 25%-40% of patients with IBD experience extraintestinal symptoms. Musculoskeletal pain is present in 9%-53% of patients and is considered the most common. Dermatologic manifestations are present in 2%-34% of patients, and ocular manifestations occur in 0.3%-5% of patients.
