The European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) task force also identified the following comorbidities as increasing the risk for morbidity and mortality in patients with SLE:
Infections
Hypertension
Lipid disorders (dyslipidemia), atherosclerosis, and coronary heart disease
Diabetes mellitus
Bone-related conditions: osteoporosis, avascular bone necrosis
Malignancies, such as non-Hodgkin lymphoma, lung cancer, and hepatobiliary cancer
