Clinical Trend of the Week (November 28 – December 4): Uterus Transplant

New hope may be coming for women with uterine factor infertility (UFI), as well as for transgender women who desire a traditional pregnancy. A new study will attempt uterus transplantation in 10 women, including a woman born without a uterus, one who lost her uterus, and some who have uteruses that no longer function. The implications of this first-of-its-kind study in the United States are wide-reaching and will be closely watched by physicians interested in providing patients looking to have children with all available options.
