A study in the Journal of Emergency Medicine found that most cases of synthetic marijuana use were associated with altered mental status and sinus tachycardia, with almost all patients returning to normal or near-normal states after 2-4 hours of observation. Most patients tend to have negative urine drug screen findings for THC metabolites. Compared with THC, synthetic cannabinoid receptor agonists are significantly more potent, leading to an exaggerated psychoactive state.
