Green tea may offer cardiovascular protection by decreasing LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and increasing HDL cholesterol. It is contraindicated in patients who are receiving bortezomib. Most of the adverse effects associated with green tea are a result of its caffeine content. These include gastrointestinal upset, insomnia, and irritability.
