Summer is a time for fun outdoor activities but it's also when certain injuries and illnesses tend to happen more frequently. Time spent playing outside in the heat can lead to dehydration. Asthma exacerbations also may occur. Too much time outside without appropriate precautions can lead to sunburn and heatstroke. Most alarming: Diving into and jumping around pools and other bodies of water can lead to serious head, neck, and spine injuries.
