In recent months, various cardiology guidelines have been updated or released that contain important, potentially practice-changing information.
The European Society of Cardiology released guidelines for syncope. The European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA)/Heart Rhythm Society (HRS)/Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society (APHRS)/Latin American Heart Rhythm Society (LAHRS) released an expert consensus on arrhythmias and cognitive function. The Society for Vascular Surgery released practice guidelines on the care of patients with an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Guidelines for hypertension in pregnancy were released by Hypertension Canada and the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada. The British Society of Echocardiography and Cardiac Risk in the Young released a joint policy statement on guidelines for the use of echocardiography in the cardiac screening of sports participants.
