The holiday season is a time when many people reflect on family, so it seems appropriate to consider some significant medical conditions that are passed on within families. Many genetic disorders and conditions can be traced through ancestry or ethnicity to parents and grandparents. Both hemophilia A and Duchenne muscular dystrophy are expressed through X-linked recessive inheritance.
Are you familiar with key aspects of epidemiology, etiology, presentation, workup, and treatment for these common familially inherited conditions? Test yourself and refresh your knowledge with this short quiz.
