According to NOD, absolute contraindications in deceased donors include:

  • Age >75 years

  • Alzheimer disease

  • Cancer

  • Chronic organ failure

  • Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease

  • Transmissible diseases for which the recipient tests negative

  • Uncontrolled infections

Relative contraindications include:

  • Age ≥60 for the heart, ≥45 years for the pancreas

  • Diabetes mellitus

  • Hypertension
