HIV infection is associated with a variety of infectious, noninfectious, and neoplastic skin conditions. These cutaneous manifestations may be related to HIV infection itself or develop as a result of HIV-related immunosuppression.
Clinician awareness of cutaneous disorders associated with HIV can facilitate detection of HIV infection in previously undiagnosed patients, as well as allow prompt recognition and treatment in patients with known infection.
