Sensory symptoms, such as tingling and numbness of hands and feet, are common in CIDP; however, motor symptoms usually predominate.

Initial symptoms of CIDP include weakness of both the proximal and distal limbs due to neuropathy.

Children with CIDP usually experience a more precipitous onset of symptoms than adults.

Autonomic system dysfunction can less commonly occur in patients with CIDP, resulting rarely in orthostatic hypotension (presented as lightheadedness after standing up from a sitting position) and cardiac problems.
