Psoriatic arthritis is a chronic inflammatory arthritis that occurs in people with psoriasis. Up to 30% of patients with psoriasis have psoriatic arthritis. There are five patterns of joint involvement: polyarticular, oligoarticular, distal, axial, and arthritis mutilans. The oligoarticular form is the most common pattern of joint involvement. Left untreated, it can lead to permanent joint damage.
