Nasal polyps are abnormal lesions that originate from any portion of the nasal mucosa or paranasal sinuses. They are the most common growths of the nasal cavity and are the result of various disease processes that take place in the nasal cavities, including chronic inflammation. Given their recurring nature, nasal polyps can significantly affect a patient's quality of life.
