There is a significant need for more precise biomarkers that identify specific disease pathways and can therefore aid in early diagnosis, risk prediction, prognostication, and informed treatment decisions. Biomarkers should help characterize the severity of disease. In general, biomarkers would have a significant impact on every step of severe asthma management.
