Fast Five Quiz: Eosinophilic Asthma

Zab Mosenifar, MD

Disclosures

March 17, 2023

According to the Severe Asthma Research Program, four phenotypic clusters in adults are associated with high levels of eosinophils:

  • Early onset, mild, atopic

  • Early onset, moderate, atopic

  • Late onset, nonatopic, female, obese

  • Early onset, severe, atopic, reversible obstruction

Almost one third of these patients exhibit overlapping allergic and eosinophilic phenotypes, which can complicate finding the best treatment option.
