Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a devastating chronic lung disease characterized by progressive lung scarring. IPF is described on imaging as well as histopathologically by the usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP) pattern. Patients have increasing dyspnea upon exertion and a chronic cough. Approximately 3 million individuals worldwide have the disease. Although prognosis is poor for those diagnosed with IPF, novel treatments may extend progression-free survival.

How much do you know about IPF? Test your knowledge with this quick quiz.
