Hypertension is more prevalent among patients with psoriasis vs those without the disease. In addition, severe psoriasis appears to independently increase the risk for poorly controlled hypertension, regardless of body mass index and other risk factors.
No gender differences in the risk for hypertension among patients with psoriasis have been found.
