Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, > 2 million new cases of breast cancer were diagnosed in 2020. Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-positive (HER2+) breast cancer accounts for up to 20% of all breast cancers. Patients with HER2+ breast cancer have a worse prognosis than patients with other types of breast cancer, but new targeted treatments have significantly improved survival rates.
