Studies suggest the prevalence of patients who have ACS and concomitant AF ranges from 6% to 21%. Patients with ACS who have concomitant AF tend to be older, have more comorbidities, and have diminished clinical outcomes.
According to the 2020 European Society of Cardiology Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Atrial Fibrillation, patients with ACS and concomitant AF often experience atypical chest pain prior to diagnosis.
