Additional doses of meningococcal serogroup B vaccine may be required in special medical situations. Children with anatomic or functional asplenia (including sickle cell disease), persistent complement component deficiency, or complement inhibitor (eg, eculizumab, ravulizumab) use should receive either a two-dose series of MenB-4C at least 1 month apart or three-dose series of MenB-FHbp at 0, 1-2, and 6 months apart.
The following vaccines also may require additional doses in special medical situations: Haemophilus influenzae type b, pneumococcal conjugate, tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis, HPV, meningococcal ACWY, and pneumococcal polysaccharide.
