If DTaP is inadvertently administered to a patient between the ages of 10 and 18 years, the dose of DTaP should be counted as the adolescent Tdap booster. If DTaP is inadvertently administered at age 7-9 years, DTaP may count as part of the catch-up series. The routine Tdap dose should then be administered at age 11-12 years.
