Waldenström macroglobulinemia (WM) is a lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma with immunoglobulin M (IgM) monoclonal pentameric protein. The presence of the monoclonal IgM protein can cause hyperviscosity syndrome, peripheral neuropathy, hemolytic anemia, and immune complex vasculitis. Because WM is associated with a favorable prognosis, clinical decisions are centered on minimizing therapy-associated toxicity and preventing complications.
How much do you know about the complications spurred by WM? Test your knowledge with this quick quiz.
