Noncoronary atherosclerosis, which affects large and medium-sized noncoronary arteries (eg, extracranial cerebrovascular disease, lower-extremity occlusive disease, aneurysmal disease), is characterized by endothelial dysfunction and vascular inflammation. Once diagnosed, preventing and treating the condition requires a team-based approach aimed at the whole spectrum of disease and its complications. Risk factor control relies on both lifestyle management and the pharmacologic management of hypertension, hyperlipidemia and dyslipidemia, and diabetes.

How much do you know about the management of noncoronary atherosclerosis? Test your knowledge with this quick quiz.
