ALL prognosis declines with age. The median age at death from ALL is 56 years.
De novo ALL occurs less often in adults than does AML. Countries with the highest incidence rates of ALL include Italy, the United States, Switzerland, and Costa Rica. In Europe, the incidence of ALL has been increasing by about 1% each year.
