The Follicular Lymphoma International Prognostic Index (FLIPI) considers five independent predictors of poorer survival: age > 60 years, hemoglobin < 12 g/dL, higher than normal serum LDH, Ann Arbor stage III/IV, and more than four involved nodal areas. The presence of zero or one, two, or three or more adverse factors categorizes a patient as having low, intermediate, or high-risk disease, respectively. Established prognostic indices do not incorporate duration of response to initial therapy.
Other indices include FLIPI2 and GELF (Groupe d'Etude des Lymphomes Folliculaires).
