Although central nervous system involvement is rare in patients who are asymptomatic at diagnosis, a lumbar puncture may be considered for certain high-risk patients. Patients should have at least two of these risk factors:
Blastoid variant
Elevated lactate dehydrogenase
Impaired performance status or neurologic symptoms
