Antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) is an entrenched, dysfunctional mental process and behavior that focuses on delinquent, socially exploitative, and criminal activities. It is most often identified by a person's lack of remorse for these actions and for hurting or harming others. ASPD falls within one of four personality disorders in cluster B of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5), along with borderline, narcissistic, and histrionic personality disorders. People with ASPD struggle with forming stable interpersonal relationships, and the disorder is linked with elevated rates of aggression, violence, accidents, and suicide.
