According to the International Diabetes Federation, 537 million people worldwide have diabetes. This number is projected to rise to 700 million by 2045. Type 2 diabetes (T2D) accounts for around 90% of diabetes cases, making it a global health crisis.

T2D is associated with various complications, including peripheral arterial disease (PAD). PAD puts patients at risk for both foot ulceration and amputation. It represents a major cause of morbidity and mortality for people with T2D, with more than two thirds of patients with diabetic foot ulceration also having this disease. Early recognition and treatment of patients at risk for PAD can prevent or delay adverse outcomes for patients with T2D.

How much do you know about PAD and T2D? Test your knowledge with this quick quiz.
