Fast Five Quiz: Metastatic Non–Small Cell Lung Cancer

Winston W. Tan, MD, FACP

Disclosures

March 29, 2022

According to Tan and colleagues, no curative treatment for metastatic NSCLC exists. Further, the 5-year survivals rates depend upon how advanced the disease is at diagnosis. National Comprehensive Cancer Network NSCLC guidelines recommend that palliative care should be integrated with clinical presentation for metastatic disease. Radiation therapy is recommended for local palliation or the prevention of symptoms. Surgery is contraindicated for patients with metastatic disease.
