In the study, patients with CAP in the Netherlands were treated with narrow-spectrum antibiotics, which were found to be safe and effective. The increased use of narrow-spectrum antibiotics was noninferior in terms of 90-day all-cause mortality. The cause of pneumonia was not identified before starting the drugs.
