An umbrella review of 11 meta-analyses of randomized clinical trials associated with the obesity-related health outcomes of intermittent fasting found six statistically significant associations of intermittent fasting supported by moderate- to high-quality evidence. Outcomes associated with modified alternate-day fasting in adults with overweight or obesity included a moderate reduction of body weight, BMI, and cardiometabolic risk factors.
