Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare and often devastating autoimmune connective tissue disease characterized by progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. SSc has a broad spectrum of clinical manifestations with heterogeneity in the disease course. Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a common complication of SSc. SSc-ILD typically carries a poor prognosis and is a leading cause of SSc-related mortality. Early recognition of ILD paves the way for early therapeutic intervention, which has the potential to improve patient outcomes.

How familiar are you with SSc-associated ILD? Test your knowledge with this quick quiz.
