Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is an increasingly significant cause of morbidity, disability, and mortality around the world. In 2019, it was estimated that 391.9 million individuals 30-79 years of age were living with COPD, and 3.23 million deaths were attributed to the disease. The prevalence of COPD is expected to continue to increase as a result of the aging population, urbanization, and other risk factors. Treatment is essential to manage symptoms, improve quality of life, and reduce the risk for exacerbations.
