Black/African American individuals have the highest prevalence and incidence rates of hypertension, compared with White, Asian, and Hispanic individuals. At 57.6%, the prevalence rate of hypertension in Black women is among the highest in the world, per Abel and colleagues.
Conversely, Hispanic and non-Hispanic Asian individuals have lower rates of hypertension than Black/African American and White individuals.
