      According to the NCCN and European Society for Medical Oncology, DNA MMR testing to identify microsatellite instability using immunohistochemistry is recommended in all patients with newly diagnosed gastric cancer. MMR testing may help identify patients who may benefit from immunotherapy.

      PD-L1 testing, HER2 testing, and liquid biopsies are used in patients with more advanced or metastatic gastric cancer.
