In a recent systematic review and meta-analysis, researchers found that COVID-19 lockdowns significantly increased the prevalence and intensity of CLBP compared with the pre-pandemic period. Researchers explained the change based on prolonged sitting times without appropriate ergonomic supports during remote working and reduced rates of physical activity. They also suggested a need for psychological support for individuals affected by LBP as long as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
