A recent report issued by the HHS cited the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which found that 1 in 5 COVID-19 survivors aged 18-64 years still had a health condition at least 30 days later that might be related to their previous COVID-19 illness. For survivors aged 65 years or older, that proportion is 1 in 4. It is not fully known whether antiviral therapy will reduce the risk of long COVID syndrome or its symptoms.
