On the basis of the patient's presentation, pulmonary CT should be performed. To investigate causes of pneumonia, consider chest imaging, full blood count, respiratory and blood, urine samples for legionella and pneumococcal antigen testing, and throat, nasopharyngeal, or sputum samples.
Pulmonary CT shows diffuse ground glass-like consolidated nodular lesions in the right hemithorax and in the peripheral areas of the upper lobe of the left lung.
