Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a lymphoproliferative disorder and is classified as a distinct type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. While it is relatively rare, the incidence has been increasing worldwide. It is more common in men than in women, and the majority of patients are elderly.

Although it is an exceedingly heterogeneous disease, the majority of patients present with advanced disease that is often aggressive. Despite the rapid evolution of treatment, there is still no cure, and prognosis is poor in many patients.
