The Skill Checkup series provides a quick, case-style interactive quiz, highlighting key guideline- and evidence-based information to inform clinical practice.

A 28-year-old woman in the United States presents with several thick, well-defined erythematous plaques with a silvery scale. Her plaques cover 11%-14% of the body surface area (BSA), primarily on the bilateral elbows, knees, and scalp. She has no history of bowel issues. She is extremely self-conscious about her itchy, scaly skin, which keeps her from participating in activities she enjoys, such as swimming. She does not feel comfortable wearing dresses or short sleeves, even in hot weather, and stays away from dark-colored clothing. She travels regularly for work. Her height is 5 ft 7 in (170 cm), and her weight is 165 lb (74.84 kg).
