Café au lait macules typically develop in infancy and childhood but will fade as the individual ages. Optic pathway gliomas tend to occur frequently but are mostly benign. Cutaneous neurofibromas develop in the majority of adolescence and persist through adulthood. MPNSTs develop during adolescence and adulthood.
