Cutaneous neurofibromas are found in > 95% of patients with NF1, whereas plexiform neurofibromas occur in approximately 40%-60% of patients. Between 50% and 60% of patients with NF1 have learning difficulties that persist throughout life. Pulmonary hypertension is a rare complication of NF1 in older adults.
