Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a highly prevalent psychiatric disorder, with a lifetime prevalence of about 5%-17%. Symptoms of MDD can range from mild to severe. Although the significant potential exists for morbidity and mortality as a result of MDD, with appropriate management, up to 80% of individuals with MDD can achieve significant symptom reduction. However, not all patients respond to first-line therapy and relapse can occur.

How familiar are you with the management of MDD? Test your knowledge with this quick quiz.
