The recombinant HZ vaccine is given as two 0.50 mL IM doses 2-6 months apart. To improve adherence to the second dose, the recombinant HZ vaccine may be given on a 0-12 month schedule, with administration at the next annual visit or at the time of the next annual influenza immunization.
