Deficits typically occur in stepwise declines in vascular dementia.
Disinhibition, apathy, and speech difficulties are typical in individuals with FTD.
Lewy body dementia is characterized by typical parkinsonian symptoms, well-formed visual hallucinations, REM sleep behavior disorder, and fluctuating attention, cognition, and alertness.
Symptoms of myoclonus, ataxia, visual changes, and memory and behavior changes are typical of patients with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
