According to the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, signs and symptoms that persist for > 12 weeks and cannot be explained by an alternative diagnosis are indicative of long COVID.
Because this patient continues to experience COVID-19 symptoms 4 months after diagnosis, his physician suspects long COVID.
