Glioblastoma (GBM) accounts for 45.2% of malignant primary brain and central nervous system tumors in adults, making it the most common primary brain tumor. GBM is a fast-growing and aggressive grade 4 astrocytoma that invades the nearby brain tissue but typically does not spread to distant organs. The median age of diagnosis is 68-70 years and is more prevalent among men. Despite advances in management, GBM carries a poor prognosis with a median survival of approximately 15 months.
